April 2, 2020 –

We hope you and your loved ones are doing well and staying safe and healthy during these unprecedented circumstances. The Harrisburg University community should be proud of the perseverance and resilience shown by our students, faculty, and staff during these challenging times.

In order to continue limiting personal contact consistent with the Pennsylvania Governor’s Orders, we have made the decision to move all academic programs (graduate and undergraduate courses) to an online format for the summer 2020 semester (May 1 – August 14).

We ask faculty scheduled to teach in the summer semester to contact their program leads for additional guidance. Also, any faculty member needing help and/or ideas about moving course content online should contact the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning. We will continue working closely with community partners and follow guidance of state and federal health agencies, and we will update the campus community as additional information becomes available. Updated information will be posted to a dedicated page on HU’s public website that will be available at: https://covid.harrisburgu.edu/. As circumstances warrant, updates will also be posted to HU’s social media sites and through its text messaging system, Omnilert.

Please note that should you encounter any HU student who is experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, or academic stress, you should encourage them to contact the BHS Student Assistance Program. They can login via the app/web, https://portal.bhsonline.com, or call 800- 327-2251. The username is HarrisburgU. Outreach to BHS is confidential, and each student is assigned a master’s level clinician as a care coordinator. BHS will provide HU students with quality, in-the-moment support.

Employees of the HU Community who may also be experiencing similar concerns, or may require financial or legal assistance, should contact the Mutual of Omaha Employee Assistance Program (EAP) at 1-800-316-2796.
